Writer's Block: Gamer's Choice
There's so many! I guess chrono Trigger has to be up at the top... either that or The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. But the longer I think about it the more awesome games there are... Bubble Bobble, Bust-a-Move, Secret of Mana, Kirby, Old Mario games, other old Zelda games... I'll stop now though. :) Current Mood: cheerful | | Monday, January 26th, 2009 | | 9:31 pm |

Writer's Block: On the Bus
The only thing I can think of is when I took the train to Montreal. The train was late but we got on finally only to be faced with listening to some guy yell and rant and rave. Apparently the train had been damaged by a passing freight train before it got to our stop. In any case they had to stop and check out the damage and make sure everyone was ok, which they were. But this guy was FREAKING OUT about the fact that the window had been cracked next to where him and his family were sitting. Cracked, not broken, not even really badly damaged. But he was yelling and complaining for who knows how long before they got to our stop. And for ages afterwards. A few stops down the line he and his family were put off the train, and the rest of us were very happy. I felt bad for his family though. They looked pretty embarassed by it all. | | Friday, January 2nd, 2009 | | 11:45 pm |
Wow
So they do have a "last 24 hour" option on the weather network site. It was about -33C while I was out walking today. (Which is apparently -27.4F) Currently it's -37C (-34.6F) The forecast for the week puts the warmest day at about -28. I think I have a new appreciation for that hallway connecting the residence to the college. :) Current Mood: cozy inside | | Thursday, January 1st, 2009 | | 12:20 pm |
Writer's Block: Auld Lang Syne
Well, we hung out at the apartment after I finished packing and then at about 12:20 called the cab company, apparently just before it got insanely busy, and grabbed an available cab to the bus station. Sat at the Timmy's next door until about 20 to 2 and then headed over to get on the bus for 2. Had a lovely drive to the Toronto airport, on which I slept very little, and then stumbled out into the airport at about 5am to wait for my plane. | | Sunday, November 16th, 2008 | | 4:59 pm |

Random thoughts
Today as I rinsed out a soup pot at work it suddenly struck me that cooked barley stuck to the bottom of a pot looks very much like spider eggs. Current Mood: intriguedCurrent Music: thumpity thump from upstairs | | Monday, August 6th, 2007 | | 1:10 am |
Nothing important
I tend to favour the random play feature when I have iTunes or my iPod playing. I like the unexpected contrasts that come up that way. Weird combinations of songs that no dj in their right mind would ever put back to back. I do appreciate a cd or playlist with a nice flow to it as well, but the amusement I get out of random combos wins out most of the time. *g* Also, iTunes sometimes seems to "know" what I want to listen to better than I do myself and pulls up thangs I've forgotten about. Last night I was playing a particular song on repeat a few times, enjoying how it seemed to be fitting my mood. Then I decided to move on, but thought I'd let iTunes decide for me. I selected random play and hit the play button, and what song should come up first, but the same song I had just been listening to. *g* __ __ __ __ Someone told me a while back that we got a Lush store in town, out in the mall. I can't remember if I've mentioned that here already... Anyways, today I finally got a chance to go out there, and had a bit of money that I could spend. The only other time I've been to Lush was in Montreal back before Christmas. And, to be honest, there was so much to choose from I just couldn't decide and just ended up leaving with nothing. And kicked myself afterwards. :p But today I got a couple things! I got two bath gels, Flying Fox, and Sonic Death Monkey (best name for a bath gel ever, imo). Every time I smell either of them I smell something new. Flying fox smells alternatively flowery and almost like spices but not quite... maybe a bit like cedar wood or something... Not sure. And the Sonic Death Monkey is sometimes chocolate, sometimes citrusy, and again, something I can't quite put my finger on. I spent forever trying to decide which to get and had just decided that I'd just get a small bottle of each when one of the employees came over and told me that if you buy a medium or large bottle you get a free body butter and a little pump thingy for the bottle. So then I decided to get a med. bottle of one and a small of the other. And spent forever trying to decide which to get in the larger size. lol I decided eventually on the Flying fox, but I think it was really a toss up. In any case, I got a free body butter with a mild exfoliator in it. Smells nice as well. And she gave me little free samples of a citrus soap, labelled "sexy peel", and shampoo. Now I just want to have a shower so I can try out some of this nummy stuff! :D __ __ __ __ When I was leaving my mom's tonight after doing laundry I saw a little envelope and picked it up to find it was adressed to me. It's a letter from the M.P congratulating me on my graduation from University. It's so nice to hear that he was glad to hear about my success, and that I have his best wishes for the future... *eyeroll* I just can't help wondering why he would even for a second think that this would impress me or anyone else. Maybe I'm just a horribly unappreciative person and everyone else is overjoyed to get their little letter in the mail... but I doubt it. lol Current Mood: YummCurrent Music: Feist - The Water | | Thursday, August 2nd, 2007 | | 1:26 am |
andsaca369 posted this and I thought it was excellent. How Much Time Should She Get?
Even if you don't read the artice, the video that is linked to the article is incredibly well done. No matter which side of this issue you stand on, I think it makes a good point about considering all the facts before you jump on the bandwagon. Pre-ordered my copy of Harry Potter today. The bookstore is already getting set up for the release (aside from the two-3 tables of Potter stuff they've had up for weeks that is. Including, I must add, a book of patterns to knit various HP things. Such as "weasley" sweaters and quidditch socks. heh) The big front windows have Harry and Voldemort painted on them and the front doors have bricks painted all over and the store hours sign now reads "Hogwarts Hours of Operation" hehehe The other day when I was there I flipped through a magazine, I think it was Time Magazine... Or it may have been Maclean's... Nope, pretty sure it was Time.... er... anyways, it had a topic about all the secrecy that goes into the release of the Harry Potter books. Especially this last one. I only had a browse through but it was pretyt interesting to see the lengths the publishers go to to ensure that no one along the chain of delivery is having a peek at a book before the release. And for my mood today I think I'll go with an option I always see and chuckle at. Not sure why, but it amuses me. Current Mood: chipperCurrent Music: rain | | Monday, July 9th, 2007 | | 11:32 pm |
Mmmmm.... Pirates.
Just saw PotC 3. I thought it was fine despite all the negative I had heard. *shrug* It was full of piratey goodness, that's all I expected. Plus: "Mister Gibbs? You may throw my hat, if you wish" "Good. Now go pick it up." Heh Current Mood: amusedCurrent Music: Fan | | Sunday, July 8th, 2007 | | 11:51 pm |

Hooray for GST tax rebates that I always forget about! It's like finding forgotten money in a pocket! *dances* Also, sitting in a favourite coffee shop, in a nice window seat, drinking tea and reading Harry Potter makes for a wonderful day off. *happy* Current Mood: happyCurrent Music: Some nice jazz music in the background | | Wednesday, July 4th, 2007 | | 11:13 am |
How may I serve you, Mr. Malfoy?
I fell asleep last night after laying in bed thinking alternately about work and Harry Potter. Consequently I dreamt that I was at work making a sandwich for Lucius Malfoy. lol Current Mood: amused | | Monday, June 18th, 2007 | | 8:49 am |
Simple Pleasures
I have realised that every morning I am surprisingly excited to rediscover the orange juice in my fridge. Why orange juice makes me THAT happy I really can't say... But look! Orange juice! :D Current Mood: excitedCurrent Music: Truck engine idling | | Wednesday, June 13th, 2007 | | 7:52 pm |
Learn to drive, Asshole
To Horn-Happy Asshole Driver(s): There are two lanes. Learn to use them. Bikes also use these lanes and have just as much right to be in the left-hand lane as you do when about to TURN LEFT. Please mind your own business, lay off the horn, leave me alone, and be on your way. Thank You, Bike-Riders Everywhere Current Mood: annoyed |
